Description: FYI: Some additional information and questions regarding the oil pump shaft with gear, Group 10-09-5, on page 64 of the Hemi Engine Data booklet.
1. Part number 1732823, is wrong. It should be 1732826.
2. Dodge truck applications for the oil pump shaft with gear:
A. All Dodge trucks, that had a Dodge hemi engine, do take the 1323369 shaft with gear. However,
B. 1953-1955 R,T, V, and Y with a 331 engine use #1488286
C. 1957 "K" 700 series with a 354 use #1732826
D. 1958 "l" 700 series with a 354 use #1827282
E. 1959 "M' 700 series type D-T (whatever that means) use #1851336
F. 1959 "M" 700 series type C (whatever that means) use 1858718
G. 1959 "M" 800-900 series type D-T (whatever that means) use 1851337
It seems unusual that there would be so many different oil
pump drive shaft with gears, C through G, with a 354
engine. If anyone has physical measurements, or otherwise
knows the details of these various applications, please
contact me. along with Hot Hemi Heads. It may be that the
only reason for the different part numbers would be either
a different vendor made a batch and/or improvements were
made to the part.
3. Oil pump shaft number 1323369, fits all hemi engines from 1951-1956. Some other applications for that same part number are:
A. 1957-1959 Dodge car, models LD2 and MD2 plus 1960-1961 318 engines
B. Plymouth V8, 1955-1958, and 1959-1961 with a 318, also use 1323369
Hopefully you can add the above information to you Hemi Engine Data booklet, near the back where the "Note" pages are, as you decide.
P. S. Here are the lengths of the following oil pump drive
shafts with a gear, as found on page 64:
A. 1323369 is 6 3/8" long
B. 1732826 is 6 3/16" long
C. 1732828 is 6 3/4" long
I am still seeking an OEM parts catalog for the 1950s Industrial hemi engines.
